Connect Stripe in 5 minutes

Ministrium uses Stripe Connect (Standard model) to process donations. Your church keeps its own Stripe account; Ministrium only creates the transactions.

TL;DR

Go to Donations → Settings → Stripe and click Connect with Stripe. You will be redirected to Stripe, authorize the connection, and come back ready to receive donations.

Before you start

• The Stripe account must be in the name of your church’s legal entity, not a volunteer.
• Have ready: tax ID, legal name, registered address, bank account.
• The process requires the finance_admin or org_admin role.

Steps

1. Donations → Settings → Stripe.
2. Click Connect with Stripe. The official Stripe screen opens.
3. If you already have a Stripe account, sign in. If not, create it via the form.
4. Authorize Ministrium’s permissions (read payments, create charges).
5. Return to Ministrium. You will see the Connected status with the public account ID.
6. Configure at least one donation fund before publishing the form.

Verification

Before announcing to the congregation, make a one-dollar test donation with a personal card. Confirm:

• The charge appears in Stripe in less than a minute.
• The receipt reaches the donor by email.
• The record appears in Donations → Movements with the correct fund.
• Within 24 hours, the test charge can be refunded from Stripe without affecting the Ministrium report.

Fees

Stripe charges its standard rate (varies by country and method). Ministrium does not charge an additional fee per transaction processed on Pro and Enterprise plans. See plans and billing.
