Events are any gathering that isn’t a regular service: conference, retreat, class, activity. They can be public (visible to everyone) or private (members only or by invitation).

- Type: conference, retreat, class, activity, other
- Date and time (in campus timezone)

Visibility types
Public
- Shows on the public events page:
<your-tenant>.ministrium.com/events. - Anyone with the link can register, even without an account.
- Registration auto-creates a prospect if missing (see Capture sources).
- Ideal for: community-open conferences, Sunday schools, membership classes.
Private (members only)
- Doesn’t show on the public page.
- Visible only on the members app and church email.
- Requires login.
- Ideal for: leader retreats, council meetings, member-only events.
By invitation
- Only visible to explicitly invited people.
- Invitations sent by email/SMS from
Events → [Event] → Invite. - Invitee enters via a unique link.
- Ideal for: select events like pastor’s birthday or donor dinners.
Event page
Every public event has its URL: <your-tenant>.ministrium.com/events/<slug>. Customize:
- Cover image: 1200x630 (also used for WhatsApp/Facebook)
- Description: rich text with images and links
- FAQ: frequently asked questions
- Map: if in-person
- Register button
Embeddable in your website via iframe.
Paid events
If the event has a fee, the charge runs through the same Stripe Connect as donations. Options:
- Single price: $50
- Tiered prices: adult $50, child $25, leader $0
- Early bird: $40 before March 15, $50 after
- Pay what you can: suggested amount but the donor picks
A payment for an event (gala dinner, paid retreat) is not deductible as a donation. The system auto-tags it as event_payment, not donation. See Tax receipts to understand the difference.
Recurring events
For classes that repeat (e.g. “Membership class every 2 months”):
- Create the master event.
- Actions → Make recurring.
- Define frequency: every N weeks/months, day of week, number of instances.
Each instance is a separate event with its own registration and report. Canceling one instance doesn’t affect the others.
