Kiosk modes (PIN vs admin)
The Ministrium kiosk can run in two modes. The choice depends on who will use it and how sensitive the operations there will be.
PIN mode
- For: welcome volunteers without a Ministrium account.
- Access: type a 4-6 digit campus PIN.
- What they see:
- Mark member attendance (quick search)
- Register visitors (Connect Card)
- Check in minors
- What they DON’T see:
- Donations
- Full medical info (only alerts)
- Reports
- Configuration
Ideal for high-volume Sundays with rotating volunteers. The device locks between uses (auto-lock after 30 seconds).
Admin mode
- For: staff with a Ministrium account.
- Access: login with email + password + optional 2FA.
- What they see: everything their role allows.
Useful for configuring the kiosk, viewing live service reports, or handling exceptions.

How to switch modes
On the device:
- PIN → admin: tap the lock icon top-right → Sign out → log in.
- Admin → PIN: user menu → Switch to PIN mode.
Don't leave the tablet in admin mode unattended
Admin mode has access to sensitive data. If you’ll leave the kiosk at the entrance for a volunteer, always switch to PIN mode first.
Recommended hardware
- iPad 9th gen or newer
- Android 10” tablet running Android 11+
- Any laptop / desktop with Chrome, Safari, or Firefox
