QR capture
QR capture is the fastest way to mark attendance: 1 second per person, ideal for large churches that want to avoid lines at the entrance.
How to get a member’s QR
Each member has a unique personal QR. Available at:
- Ministrium mobile app: Profile tab → My code.
- Email sent on member promotion: includes a printable PDF.
- Membership card (optional): if the church prints them, it carries the QR.
The QR doesn’t expire, but can be rotated from [Member] → Actions → Rotate my QR. Useful if someone loses a card.
How to scan
From the kiosk (front camera)
- Tap Scan code.
- The member holds their QR up to the camera.
- Beep and “Welcome, [Name]”.
- The kiosk returns to home.
From an external scanner
For high-volume lines, plug in a USB QR scanner. Configure it in “HID” mode (keyboard input) and capture is instant without touching the screen.
Event QR
For private events or special Sundays, you can generate an event QR:
- Events → [Event] → Check-in QR.
- Print it and place at the entrance.
- Each member scans the event from their app + scans their personal QR after.
This ties attendance to the specific event instead of the regular service.
QR + child check-in
If the member has minors in their household, after scanning their QR you automatically see:
“Check in your 2 minors?”
Tap “Yes” and the system prints the security codes. See Child check-in.
If a member loses their QR, rotate it. The old QR stops working immediately. If it’s used once after rotation, it’s logged as a security alert and org_admin is notified.
Offline mode
Camera and scanner work offline. Attendance queues locally and syncs on reconnect. Up to 1,000 queued marks without loss risk.
Privacy
The QR contains an opaque identifier — no name, email, or personal data. If someone scans it outside a Ministrium kiosk, they get nothing useful.
