Assign leaders
The group leader is the person pastorally responsible for the care and multiplication of their cell. Assigning them well is one of the module’s most important decisions.
Assign the main leader
The main leader is chosen when you create the group or edit it. There is no separate Leaders tab.
- Go to Church Life → Small Groups → Cellular Structure.
- Open the group and click Edit (or create a new group with + Create Group).
- In the leader field — the title changes by type, for example Cell leader — search for the member and select them.
- Save.
After saving, that person is the group’s leader. When they sign in, they may see My group in the app and the leadership panel when it applies. From there they can mark attendance, submit the weekly report, and care for the members of their cell.
There can be only one main leader per group. To change them, open Edit again, pick someone else in the same field, and save.
Leadership team
On the group record you will see the Leadership team section. It shows the group roster roles, for example:

| Assistant | Supports the leader (useful to mentor a future leader or share the load). |
| Host | Person who provides the meeting venue; may be the same as the leader or someone else. |
Always use the names you see on screen. Do not invent extra roles.
What the leader can do
In church language, the leader of their group can:
- See and care for members of their cell (not other cells).
- Mark meeting attendance.
- Submit the weekly report.
- Message their group when the app allows it.
- Open My group (and the leadership panel, when it applies) after signing in.
They do not see members’ donations or data from other groups. For the technical permission detail, see the permission matrix.
Leader training
This is not a software feature, but many churches create a closed space to train leaders — for example a private event — and coordinate the cell network.

Assigning a leader gives them access to sensitive information about group members (contact, attendance, pastoral notes when they exist). It is a pastoral decision, not only an administrative one. Confirm with the pastor before assigning.
